Protein Boost May Cure Memory Loss

A new study published in Science states that there may be a way to reverse or cure memory loss in aging adults. As people age, many suffer from a shortage of a protein in the brain called RbAp48 which effects memory. Scientists have found that boosting the protein in the brain can possibly reverse memory loss caused by aging. The study has only been practiced on mice, but gives researchers hope for a possible cure for memory loss in humans in the future. Additionally, this is not a potential cure for Alzheimer’s, as memory loss caused by aging and Alzheimer’s are two separate diseases. More here
