New Hope For Lung Cancer Treatment

Medical News Today reports that an experimental treatment used to yield growth and kill ovarian and breast cancer cells may also help treat certain types of lung cancer. The drugs, ADP ribose polymerase (PARP) inhibitors, are believed to fight against many non-small cell lung cancer tumors. A scientist at the Institute of Cancer Research in London, Dr. Chris Lord said, “lung cancer is hard to treat and unfortunately has very poor survival, so there is an urgent need to find new treatments.” Non-small cell lung cancer tumors account for 80 to 95% of all lung cancers.
