Hospitals Vague When Portraying Costs

According to a report covering medical pricing conducted by the Catalyst for Payment Reform, hospitals are not providing patients with enough information regarding their medical expenses. The report graded 36 states on an A-F scale, and of the 36 states reviewed, all received grades of D or F. Executive director of the Catalyst for Payment Reform, Suzanne Delbanco said, “We expect consumers to cover more of their care and decide how to expand resources. But it’s unacceptable to expect them to do that without providing them with what they need to make price and quality decisions.” More here
