New Eye Implant May Help Impaired Vision

The Food and Drug Administration approved a new eye-implant technology that will work in place of damaged eye cells. The device’s name is the Argus II Retinal Prosthesis System. The new technology may not be able to fully restore lost vision, but the FDA said, “it may allow them to detect light and dark in the environment,” which could aid in the performance of daily tasks.
