Higher Priced Multivitamins Not Necessarily Higher Quality

A review conducted by ConsumerLab of 38 leading multivitamin products found that higher priced supplements weren’t necessarily higher quality. The analysis found one in three products didn’t contain the level of nutrients listed on the packaging and 13 brands had either too little or too much of certain nutrients. Among the brands that scored well were Nature Made Multi For Her 50+, Equate Mature Multivitamin 50+, and brands from discount stores such as Costco, Walmart, and Sam’s Club. Because multivitamins are categorized as dietary supplements, rather than medicines, they are not regularly tested for quality. More here.
