National Effort Aims To Safely Dispose of Unused and Expired Meds

The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration is holding its second National Take Back Initiative on April 30. The effort aims to collect unused and expired medicines so they may be disposed of safely and legally. Prescription and over-the-counter pills and caplets will be accepted. The first take-back event, held last September, collected more than 121 tons of pills. To find a collection site near you, visit the DEA’s National Take Back Initiative website or call 800-882-9539.
